When the topic of love comes up, everyone’s first thought automatically goes to romance - which is understandable. But do you ever stop to think about loving others equally? A lot of effort goes into romantic relationships everyday, but how much energy do we honestly put into platonic/non-romantic relationships?
Growing up, it wasn’t okay for men to cry. It wasn’t okay for men to show emotions. Love was always depicted as a sign of weakness. And as a result, men grew up with the false narrative that hiding our true emotions made us vulnerable and lesser men.
But this narrative is changing thanks to a group called Brother’s Keeper.

Brother’s Keeper is a group on young men and women changing the narrative in society today. The group based in Abuja, Nigeria has been a huge blessing in the lives of young men and women in and around the region. Their modus operandi is simple; create a safe environment (online and offline) where men can be free to talk about issues that bother them and where women can also be free to share their vulnerabilities without fear or judgment from others. Simply put, it’s a therapeutic group of inspiring individuals being there for one another, especially now in an era where the narrative on emotional vulnerability is taboo and frowned upon.
Love is a Godly expression of goodwill towards others.
It is a beautiful experience best shared with others. Acts of kindness, words of encouragement and warm hugs go a long way in putting smiles on people’s faces. Let me ask you three questions; when was the last time you told a friend you loved them? When was the last time you felt strongly in your heart to tell someone how great and amazing they were/are? When was the last time you told a total stranger that they were going to have a great day, and after which you walked away smiling?
This publication was birthed from the sheer desire to spread love to everyone who comes across “With Love, From Love”. It wasn’t planned, neither was this post. It was crafted out of a sincere desire to make you - the reader feel that warm fuzzy feeling in your heart which is now translating into a deep beautiful smile. It was created because of You. Because you’re amazing and because “I LOVE YOU”.
While I work on creating a scheduled structure for posts on this publication, I would like to extend my heartfelt thoughts to everyone who’s been directly or indirectly affected by the Covid-19 virus plaguing the world today. While I encourage everyone to listen to your health authorities and avoid unnecessary public gatherings, I would also like to say that the human race will once again rise above every adversity as we come together to fight this plague ravaging our societies. And to the refugees, homeless and elderly people, my prayers are with you and your families in these trying times. I LOVE YOU ENDLESSLY! And I will continue to pray for the victory of You and I.
