Love Is Alive
Not many Christians believe Jesus is alive! And as absurd as this sounds, it’s the truth. Many of us identify with the religion but not with GOD. We have that “let’s be realistic” approach to the resurrection of Jesus Christ which boarders atheism if not borderline unbelief all together; we simply can’t fathom the idea that a man who was executed, is resurrected in that same mortified body which was crucified for all to see and is still alive 2,000+ years later. We can’t wrap our heads and hearts around it outside of religious calisthenics. To assume that every Christian is a believer is a dangerous assumption to make, because even amongst Christians, many haven’t truly heard the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
There are many of us who are currently angry with GOD because we feel He let us down. Maybe we were believing GOD for a healing, a breakthrough or even for help in a severe matter; and for some reason, we feel let down, distraught and uninterested in anything Christianity or Jesus...and I get it, I was angry at GOD for years when I lost my mum at the age of 12. Little did I know then that in spite of my grief, GOD was still faithful to me, even in my unbelief.
What more can we demand from the person who gave His life just so we could have His eternal and everlasting life? What more can we ask of someone who died the death we were supposed to die due to our sin? What more could we possibly want from someone who gave us His very best—His Spirit? How selfish and self-centred can we be, to think that GOD exists to serve us?
Easter reminds us of the selflessness of GOD, who sent His best—His Son Jesus, to pay a price we could not pay & a debt He did not owe, and to set the lawful captives (us) free from the everlasting bondage of sin and death; that GOD would become the Son of Man, so that sons of men can become Sons of GOD. The greatest love story ever told was on the Cross of Calvary and today reminds us that Jesus isn’t on the cross anymore, neither is He in the grave, but He is alive and well, in His mortified flesh and He is coming again very soon!
