Love Is...Incomplete

Love, in and by itself, is incomplete. Love (the mere feeling of it alone without intent or action), isn’t enough to maintain and sustain any relationship. While we often feel an avalanche of overwhelming emotions cascading towards another, that in itself means nothing if there aren’t actionable steps being taken daily to expressly express how we truly feel for another. And even then, love all by itself isn’t enough. Love is a symbiosis - it isn’t one way.

Love cannot be hid. It is an act that does. The reason why love works, is because love-walks involve a lot of work. Love is very intentional. It’s an investment of time, resources, emotions & loads of tangible effort. There are lots of responsibilities involved in this journey called love. Love is a full-time job! It isn't about how you feel or how many butterflies bounce off your belly walls. It’s about how you respond to every situation in deed and in kind. Which of your favorite fruit brings forth its produce all by itself, without having being connected to a branch of its likeness - without having being connected to a tree, its source?

But love is a fruit of our ever-growing efflorescent Spirit in Christ. For love to bear its fruits, our Spirits must first be planted in Christ, watered daily by the purity of His Word, grow deeply rooted in selfless sacrifice, sprout 🌱 forth in faith, spread its branches far & wide by extending the love and grace of Christ within our hearts towards others, before finally bearing good and succulent fruits that enrich the lives of others; not bad and sour ones. And if truly we are rightly planted by the rivers of Christ’s living waters, then our love will indeed bear good fruits in all seasons of our lives. Because we are connected to the true source of love, Jesus Christ.
