The idea of love we have, has to change. The way we see love has to be reviewed. We can't keep doing the same things & expecting different results. That's crazy! It gives us the illusion of hope. The fact that we can meet someone totally different & still have the same negative results as our previous relationships — not because the people we meet are broken, but because our view of love & how we see things are fractured, is a pointer to something fundamentally wrong in our perception & approach to love & relationships as a whole.
The most incredible things happen when we least expect them. The beauty of love is in its spontaneity & healthy balances. How well we manage our emotions, matter a lot. Love isn't self-centred. It isn't self-seeking. So if we approach love solely from a perspective of what we can gain, we'd lose that essence of unconditionality it needs to function optimally. And if we don't correct this notion that love is primarily meant to serve us, we'd hurt people & keep getting hurt, because we're getting it all wrong from the very get-go.
Love is a beautiful process & it's one that doesn't always end in happily forever afters. We should be comfortable letting certain feelings fade, if for some reason it's not working out as we'd hoped. But just because a romantic relationship doesn't blossom between you & the person you're growing really fund of, your friendship with that person shouldn't have to suffer. I wish I'd known this earlier in life, when I used to let my emotional immaturity get the better of me, but I'm starting to understand that GOD brings us into people's lives for multifaceted reasons. Sometimes, it works out romantically. Other times, it doesn't. Nevertheless, love isn't just all about romance. Yes, romance is a subset of love, but love is far greater than romance. Love is unconditional.

Side Note:
There's a song that's been bubbling in my Spirit for days now. I wanted to share it alongside a playlist, but I didn't want to take away from the emphasis of this song. So, I'll just share it alone. Please listen & listen again, on repeat. There's something there for you 🥰
