I genuinely believe that when we ask The Holy Spirit to tell us what GOD’s Will for us in marriage is, and when we accept His Will above ours, that's when we'll begin to truly want what He wants for us and that'll be the very best because GOD doesn't play small.
How can we know what we want when we don't even know what tomorrow holds?!
The minute we start asking GOD the right questions, like;
What is GOD’s Will for our spouses?
What is GOD’s Will for our marriage?
What is GOD’s desire for our lives?
…The minute we shift from “this is what I want” to “Not my will, but Your Will be done, LORD”, that's when we'll truly start winning in life and in our relationships ☺️
So true, God’s Will supersedes ours. Just like a conversation we had a couple weeks ago, the Will of God (spouse) we are seeking for in marriage is God.
The better we understand this, the easier it is for us to surrender our plans, expectations and preferences to simply receive Him in exchange.
It’s easier said than done though😅 but marriage is an invitation into God
Holding on is way harder than letting go. We struggle to let go because we still want to hold on to some sort of control over our lives. The world has conditioned us to put self above all else, and that's what keeps us from experiencing GOD is the fullness of His Glory.
What do we have to lose if we surrender total control of our lives? What have we gained since we've been in control?
Faith, Trust, Love…these are all demonstrated by our actions and inactions.
Wouldn't it be nice to rest from all the worrying and struggling & lobbying we've been doing all our lives?! The Holy Spirit is a Person and He knows who's best for us and who we're best for; and what we need to be the best versions of ourselves. Our desire for comfort leads us to labour fruitlessly, whereas, The Comforter is beckoning on us to come, even though He's walking on Water—literally showing us that we Him, we can do the impossible effortlessly.
